The Lou LaMya Story

Our Story

Lou LaMya was born from a love of craftsmanship, creativity and creating meaningful pieces for the people I love most.

I've always been a creative person. From learning to sew at just ten years old to studying Fashion at university, making and creating has been a part of my life for as long as I can remember. Over the years, I've made countless gifts for family and friends, finding joy in creating something personal, thoughtful and made to last.

In 2024, whilst seven months pregnant with my second daughter, I discovered crochet. Determined to create a Moses basket for my baby, I taught myself the craft and quickly fell in love with the process. What began as a personal project soon became something much more. Before my daughter had even arrived, I had already sold three handcrafted Moses baskets, finishing her own just in time for her birth.

Since then, Lou LaMya has grown through word of mouth, local fairs and the trust of families welcoming my creations into their homes. Each basket is individually handcrafted with the same care and attention I would give to something made for my own family.

Today, my baskets can be found throughout my own home — from blanket baskets and toy storage to laundry baskets and nursery essentials. I've even made miniature Moses baskets for my eldest daughter's dolls. They are pieces we use, love and treasure every day, and that is exactly what I hope for every Lou LaMya customer.

Every piece is thoughtfully handcrafted in England using premium materials and traditional techniques. More than anything, Lou LaMya is a celebration of beautiful craftsmanship, timeless design and the joy of creating something made to be cherished.

Thank you for being here and supporting my small business.
